CRH says 2008 acquisition spending may fall
(DUBLIN, Ireland) - Irish building materials group CRH may not spend as much on acquisitions this year as it did in 2007, finance director Myles Lee said on Tuesday.
The group spent 2.2 billion euros ($3.25 billion) on acquisitions in 2007 and said on Tuesday it expected tougher trading conditions this year.
'We may not see a total year spend quite at the level of last year,' Lee told Reuters in an interview.
'It will still continue to turn out to be a good year on the development front, but our focus at the moment is very much on the existing businesses,' said Lee, who is also chief executive designate.
